Fire is not a pleasant awareness in our times. Raging fires in the western United States, Australia, the heating of our planet… We see a similarity with the firey furnace that faced the three friends of Daniel. Their confidence and complete faith in God had them walk about in the firey furnace with a fourth…an angel? …Jesus? The Holy Spirit? We are borne aloft in our own spiritual faith and are always accompanied by Jesus and the sacred fire of the Holy Spirit which always fills us with love and joy. We pray especially for the next person who faces their present and future before what seems to them to be a fiery furnace.
